Planning a children's birthday, a playdate or a kids' class? With Lekha's Kids only option, the invitation goes to a parent, and the parent RSVPs for their child or children by name. You see exactly which kids are coming, how many, who has allergies, and whether parents are staying or dropping off. It's free, and parents don't need an account or an app.

🧒 One switch: Who's invited? Everyone or Kids only

Pick Kids only and the RSVP changes from "how many adults and kids?" to "which children are coming?". Everything that counts guests, including your capacity limit, counts kids.

How to set up a kids-only event (for hosts)

  1. Start an invitation. Tap Create, choose Invitation, pick a template (or make one with AI) and open Step 2: Event details.
  2. Find "Who's invited?" It sits under "Hosted by". Choose Kids only instead of Everyone. You can also change it later in Event Settings → Guests.
  3. Set the three options:
    • Siblings welcome (on by default): a parent can RSVP for up to 6 children. Turn it off for exactly one child per invitation.
    • Parents can stay (on by default): the RSVP asks how many adults are staying (0 to 2). Turn it off for a drop-off party and no adults are asked.
    • Ages (optional): a short note such as "5–8", shown on the invitation.
  4. Send it. Share by WhatsApp, email, text or a link, the same as any Lekha invitation.
Good to know: you can switch between Everyone and Kids only until the first "Yes" comes in. After that it's locked, because switching would change what existing replies mean. Siblings welcome, Parents can stay and Ages stay editable.

What parents see

🎈

A clear badge

The invitation shows a small badge such as "Kids' party · Ages 5–8 · Drop-off", with each part shown only if you set it.

✍️

RSVP for each child

Yes, Maybe or No, then the parent's name and contact, then the child's first name. If siblings are welcome, there's a "+ Add another child" button.

🥓

Allergies up front

Parents add allergies or dietary needs in the same form, so you know before the cake is cut.

✅

Easy to change

The confirmation reads "Aarav and Diya are coming to…". Parents can edit the reply later, and the children's names are already filled in.

Drop-off or stay?

Turn Parents can stay on and the RSVP asks how many adults are staying, so you can plan seats and snacks. Turn it off for a drop-off party and the form never asks about adults. Pair it with the wording on your invitation, such as "Drop-off party: pick-up at 4 pm". For more ideas, see our birthday invitation wording guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I create a kids-only event?

On Step 2 of the invitation wizard, find "Who's invited?" under "Hosted by" and choose Kids only. Then set Siblings welcome, Parents can stay and an optional Ages note. You can also change it in Event Settings under Guests.

How does a parent RSVP for more than one child?

If Siblings welcome is on, the RSVP form has a "+ Add another child" button, up to 6 children per reply. If it's off, each invitation covers one child.

Can I make it a drop-off party?

Yes. Turn off Parents can stay and the RSVP never asks about adults. The invitation badge shows Drop-off.

Will other guests see my child's name?

No. Children's names are visible only to the host and co-hosts. Other guests see counts, such as 8 kids coming.

Can I change an event to kids-only after people have replied?

You can switch between Everyone and Kids only until the first Yes comes in. After that it's locked so existing replies keep their meaning. Siblings welcome, Parents can stay and Ages can still be edited.

How do I see which kids are coming and their allergies?

Your event page shows Kids coming, Adults staying and Families replied. Each reply lists the children's names and allergies, and the CSV download includes the same details.
